I could use some prayer today..... This week I finally interviewed for a job that would be an official 'promotion' where I work. The job was vacated way back in January and since then I have been working in the interim in the position. It has been a few days since I've interviewed and could really use some prayer, specifically to keep a peace of mind that God is in control, not the guys who were interviewing me. Instead of focusing on the negative, one verse that really spoke to me last night was Philippians 4:8. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." Over the next day or so as the decision is being made I believe that I really need to focus my attention on the Lord and the plan he has for my life - and rest in the fact that He is in control of this, not me or the hiring committee, and it is my best interest that He has in mind. It's hard - it really is!

Dave, look up Job Chapters 38-40. This is a passage for me to remember when I'm worried if God is in control,I find myself like Job in chapter 40 3-5

Dave,
I just had to write a reply to your message. I bid a job 1 1/2 months ago that equals a significant part of my income. My wife and I have been praying for Gods will to be done and to my surprise I didn't get chosen for the job. Debbie and I smiled at each
other when we got the news last Friday and said Wow! God must be really planning something bigger! :grin: Cool
Don't get me wrong, I was very deflated and even had a few not so good emotions run through my mind but I do know that God is in full control and I submit to that fact!
As for your situation and job interview, you have my prayers.

I DID NOT GET THE JOB!!!! I've been able to see God's hand in this decision, even though it was not in my favor, and look at it positively.
Thanks so much for the encouragement! Since I was informed of the decision I have had a few difficult moments, but all in all I DO realize that God is in control, and like you said, He does have something much, much better in store for me. I'm so glad that I am a Christian in these moments.
