The trout I am holding is from a lake called Lake McClure on the Merced River, about 30 miles west of Yosemite. The fish my dad is hold is from a lake called Commanche on the Mokelumne River north west of McClure by about 60 miles.
The fish at Commanche are planted large but their tails often suffer from spending much of their life in the concrete raceways of the hatchery. The fish are also pretty obese and don't fight all that well.

I thought I'd throw this one into the mix. The way this "beast" came out of the water at me, I'm lucky to have walked away with all my digits. Nothing like a fall evening on a quiet lake in a float tube with a box of dry flies.

Hey FishnMike,
welcome to Ifish, you sure picked up the picture posting thing fast. Great pics and nice fish!
I'm just curious, have you ever fished the aquaduct that brings all that great water to LA? Pretty fun fishing it, lots of fish but it feels funny fishing a concrete river, that was 25 years ago though but I'm sure that the concrete fishery hasn't changed. It was a great way to spend an evening without driving far.

Funny you mention that WindTroller. My dad worked there for 32 years. I grew up fishing on that canal. Lots of big catfish and striped bass.
Nice photos guys.
