Hello.. eveyrone.. I'm sort of new here. SO bare with me if I'm don't nkow everything quite yet.. but I am learning pretty fast. Right now I am in need of deep prayer though. For awhile my walk with God was the strongest it had ever been.. but now it is falling.. and i feel like i'm heading farther and farther away from him. It seem like when I try and take a step forward I take two steps backwards.. and I'm not ending where God is wanting me to be which is by his side. The devil has been really eating at me alot lately.. I'm going to be 20 years old soon.. and I just don't know how... or what is going to happen to me. Where I am headed to or.. what I am supposed to do. But when I try to stay close to God.. i feel i keep slipping... so please those of you whoknow what its like to feel this way.. please pray for me and even some of those people who don't... Its something hard to cope with in my life at this point. Thank you all so much.. and I hope to hear from some of you soon and start talking about fishing with all of you
Jesus is my Fishing Partner

Hey Gurl,
Nice to meet you-- and boy does your post sound familiar. I too have and do battle with weakness. But there is a scripture I fall back on--- Read Romans 7:15-25. You see, even the apostle Paul had the same battle. Remember that you are not alone in your battle -- you bet I will be praying for you -- but even better-- God's promise is to not give you more than you can bear-- though He will push and stretch the boundaries.
Our goal as Christians -- to be Christ like -- some times is an immediate transformation-- more often, however, it is a growing (often slowly) relationship that must be nurtured, fed and supported.( the parable of the vine)
You don't mention it -- but are you involved with a Church group? do you have a Christian brother or sister who you can call -- any time and just say -- "I need to prayer"?
Boy this sounds way too preachy-- I better quit while I'm behind--
My wife and I will be in prayer for your continued strength and growth in the Lord--
Remember -- to pray for me too----

I honor your honesty. How we all feel the pull of the 'flesh'. First, let me ask you if you have ever made Jesus Christ your personal savior. Without that, following the Christian life is impossible, for when we do, the Holy Spirit comes into our life to give ...power, power over the flesh and power over the Evil One. That being said. "Walk ..in the Spirit...and you will not do the desires of the flesh." Gal.5:16 It helps me to think of two place. One at the end of my left arm. We will call that 'the Flesh'. At the end of my right arm is 'the Spirit'. When we make a conscious decission (2Cor.10-3-5)to walk our life; body, soul and spirit towards righteousness, the pull of the flesh will get less and less and the glory of the Spirit will get more intense. The opposite is also true. Now, how do we get that power to do that? Eph. 5:18 "be filled with the Spirit." The idea is of a constant filling. Practically, it means we say day by day, moment by moment, Lord I am weak, I need your Spirit to fill me, enable me to do your will. Guess what, HE WILL! God loves when we take our weaknesses to Him, when we surrender to Him. In fact He honors nothing less that total committment. Then He lives through us, empowering us to do what we can not. Then the fruit is obvious, love, joy, PEACE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentileness,self-control. Read and meditate of Gal.5, it will speak into yopur life, live in the power of the Holy Spirit, and walk in the direction of righteousness and peace will be your friend. I will pray God's richest blessing for your life.

Gurl,
Remember also that as we come closer to the Lord, the Holy Spirit will point to areas in our life that need to be changed-- areas that we were not even aware of -- so at times we seem to be going backwards-- but!!! what is really happening is that we are opening our hearts to allow the Holy Spirit to work in us.
Oh, and yes Satan will try to put extra pressure on you because he sees you slipping from his grasp -- Thank you Jesus for defeating satan for me -- I could not do it on my own!!

Thank you to both of you who replied to my message. To answer both of your questions in this post... I willl try but I'm not sure I will get all of them. I am a christian... I accepted Christ into my heart when I was 5 and on March 1st of 2002 I (as some people says) Re-Gave The LORD my life. I was going through a really bad time in high school, and when I got out it seemed to get worse cause of some of the people I was hanging out with. But then In March I went to a college retreat with the college age group for a weekend and after that.. I felt so much better about myself... and about the fact that God was righ tthere again... And I found him again.. but right after a friend of mine stopped being my friend... it seemed to go down hill from there... and its been hard to keep up. BUt I thank you both so much for praying... And for whatever you need I will be praying for you also..
Jesus is my fishin' buddy

Ryan hits it right, you always have someone to talk to, night or day, rain or shine, whether you've done right or wrong.

There has been one thing that continually hits me when I seem to be "fighting" between God and the Devil and Chuckrchaser hit on it--God will never give you more than you can handle. The hard part is that we don't know what we can handle, only God does. The other aid I find in these times is that my life is directed by God. There is a purpose to all that goes on in my life however difficult it is for me to understand right now.
These things today that burn you and confuse you will all be a slap on the side of the head weeks or months into the future. Do not give up or give in. Pray.
Luke 1:37 "For Nothing is impossible with God."
