"Generosity vs Stinginess & Greed"
Author Neil Anderson say; "Man is self-seeking, self-justifying, self-centered and self-confident, living in reality serving the god of this world." If the spirit of selflessness is what characterizes the kingdom of God, then it is the spirit of selfishness that markes the kingdom of Satan. The virtue of generosity is foundamental to a heart that knows God intimately.It is rooted not so much in what we do with our things - our money, possessions, time, abilities and gifts - as it is in how we view them. Are they ours, to do with as we please? Or are they on loan from God, entrusted to our care and stewardship for the good of others? A greedy, stingy heart says the former, a generous heart knows the latter to be true. Test youself.
*Do I often dream about money,always leaving me unsatisfied and wanting more or do I relinquish ownership of my money, possessions, time, home, gifts to the Lord?
*Am I dishonest with my spouce about money, or do I cheat my employer by wasting time, padding expense accounts, or stealing? Or am I a person of honesty and integrity, even when it hurts?
*Do I rationalize not giving a tithe of my income, or do I openly share what God brings into my life?
"Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." 1Tim.6:18 Prov 11:24-25 One man gives freely, yet gains even more;another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.A generous man will prosper;
he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
America is about bigger, better, now. We, as Christains are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God (1Peter 2). Let us proudly show off our true heritage for His glory :smile:
