I'm a bit surprised no one has responded also. I haven't fished any of the lakes in Eastern Oregon so I can't be of any help. Somebody?

I havn't been to east lake in a long time but it's a good trout lake.
That's Central OR, not Eastern.....
Quite a few reservoirs in NEO took a big hit during low water last year, especially Thief Valley. It has been stocked with some legal sized fish and a bunch of smolts. If the conditions are good for 2-3 years Thief Valley will be putting out a bunch of big fish, just need the water.
Phillips Res., Wolf Cr. Res. are suffering from the effects of "bucket biologists" i.e. introduction of warm water species.
Not even worth your time.
I would vote for Jubilee Lake(just restocked), Wallowa Lake near the inlet and Anthony Lakes area.

Thanks Mad Mikey, Last year was great. WE would limit out at Thief in about 2-3 hours. Most fish were 12-18 inches. In May me and a couple of friends took a guys weekend and fishes thief, phillips, wolf creek, and pillicher. We caught 2 fish all weekend long. We took the families to Wallowa Lake over Memorial Day. We caught a few small Kokes. We fished the inlet to no avail. There were fish all over the place and none would bite. I even ran my lure across the back of one and it just kept swimming. Sounds like you live around the area or were you over this way visiting?

Willow Creek Reservoir next to Heppner is slow and full of algae. The Corp of Engineers installed bubblers but its still thick. Penland Lake between Heppner and Ukiah is doing good right now and the lake was deepened last winter and stocked heavy this spring. Bull Prairie Reservoir between Heppner and Spray is fair to good for small Brookies. Hope that helps.

Thanks Elklaker!!! Earlier this spring i took my daughter over to Willow Creek Res. and we hammered the crappie. They were not very big but the little one had a blast.

I haven't heard much for lakes up here. Sorry. The stealhead are headed this way for Troy though!!! Steelies on a dry are hard to beat!
I just got back from my elk hunting trip and fly fished and camped on pendland lake and just hammered 14-18" trout fat as a foot ball-playing catch and release on top and bottem 1-2 hrs fishing per day 8-12 fish- 7 days in a row. :smash: the bite was on 2-4pm I was hunting the rest of the time.

Welcome to Pendleton, Beavers82. I have lived in Pendleton for 29 years and have never fished the Umatilla, but i know alot of people that do. Earlier this year they had an outstanding run. Lots of people did very well. Me and a few friends normally fish the lakes and resiviors around here and have started to fish on the columbia. Send a PM any time you want and we'll keep in touch.
