Boy this will be fun. Isn't it such a fun challenge to step out in faith and simply admit you are a believer? Jennie thanks for putting this up.

I moved to the NW almost 5 years ago and went from being a hyperactive believer to not attending church at all. I checked out a few in the area, but found the church of the bent rod and the holy community of the duck call to my preferred location on Sunday mornings. (BTW not I am not making any suggestion that if you don't go to church, you are somehow less of a Christian.)

By God's grace, I have been blessed with a loving Godly wife and two boys who's faith is sprouting and growing. (Got married in August).

I was on staff at one of the largest churches in San Diego prior to coming to the NW and have some strong desires about what I would like in a church. Now that I am married, some of those desires have changed.

We live in Camas and I am willing to travel within a reasonable distance. If you have some recommendations, please let me know. Some things I look for in a church:

1. Teach the Word accurately and passionately with a never ending emphasis on grace.
2. Encourage a personal, active faith.
3. Have sufficient facilities to support ministries for men, women and children.
4. Preferably have a floating bible study during prime fishing times.

I am not interested in charismatic churches, nothing wrong with them, just not my cup of tea.

Thanks again and looking forward to getting to know more of you as brothers and sisters in Christ.

You need to look for a church that has a good night service that way the fish will not miss you on Sunday morning yet you still have a church family. I will pray you finda good church home for you and your family. As for the floating bible study you find it let me know

Sorry you live on the east side. Sunset Presbitarian in Beaverton maybe what you are looking for. Larger church with lots of facilaties for all. They even have a Saturday night service that is great.

Cutter I used to attend at Sunset and really enjoyed it; however, having two little boys in the car for 90 minutes on Sunday may be a little much.

Has anyone been to Stu Weber's church in Gresham?

Lured in: From what I read, I can think of two good churches for you to try. both are non-demonational churches that in my experience are devoted to teaching accurately from the Word. They are both large growing churches that encourage a personal walk with the lord. They both have growth groups, childrens ministries, mini-churches, etc....
The two churches are: Good shepherd community church (boring, about 25 in form camas) and crossroads in vancouver off of Andreson.

I go to good shepher, have for 23 years. It's a great church, Pastors are Alan Halavka, Stu Webber, and Barry Arnold.
