This summer has been excellent. My left arm is seriously messed up from fighting sockeyes and chinooks and I need to wear my tennis elbow arm band every day  Thank god the sockeyes are done for the year. We were averaging more than 100 fish per day per person if you could hold out! The Chinook fly fishing wasn’t as good but most clients were getting 6-12 per day up to 30 pounds. We have been working on our silver flies and trout beads getting ready for the final season. Pink salmon are in and you can catch all you want on any pink fly and sink tip combo. Chums are still being caught from time to time but the bread and butter fishery right now is trolling for kings in tidewater. Trout are still chasing smolts at the islands and we are getting them up to 31". Next weeks schedule has at least one fly out to the Ugashik narrows for trophy grayling and char. Still some bears hanging aroud the lodge at night and some on the main river causing a bit of trouble. The bugs are still bad, its whitesocks season, and 100% DEET bug juice is a must every time we head out. That’s it for now. I will try to report next week so anybody having any questions can PM me and I will get back to you. Tight lines.

Nice report.

By the end of you season your reports will look a little more like this:

Hey, ifishers. I'm tired and cranky. Yah', bunch of fish in the river, so what? I'm going to sleep.

If I have to move another one of those blue, 55 Gallon fuel drums again I may have to throttle someone.

I miss fishing.

All I do up here is catch, so boring and repetitive.

I have to hide my fly box on the way to my cabin. If I don't do this the fish follow me back and keep me awake, tapping at the window, looking for an ESL to munch on.

The other night our camp cook came out and asked if any of the guides would run out and catch a few salmon for the next wave of clients to eat.

We all grabbed our beers and hid.

But when you get home and re-live it, you'll find it was all very well worth it.

Been there, done that.....

Wingdam,

Thanks for the report. I will be on the river Aug 4th - 10th. Hopefully the Silvers will be in by then. We will be unguided, so look for the guys (one gear, one fly) trying to figure out that big river.
