I recently received a copy of a salmon snatching bear video at work and nearly fell from my chair. Some of you may have seen this already, but if you haven't, it's a must see. Talked to RT about WEBing it, but yesterday at work I found that all of us there forwarding this thing around clogged the company's mail system and they had to call in the "mail cops" to fix it. Hence, they set out deleting everyone's copy. Fortunately, I managed to get my copy sent off to my home PC and downloaded. The thing is huge (about 9 megs) and took about an hour to download. After clogging the system at work, figured the safest way to advertise this would be to let folks know I have a copy if you want it. Let me know via this post or send me an e-mail and I'll shoot it to you. Just be aware of the size and don't plan to use your system while it downloads.

Thought this would work best, RT. It dogged our system at work to a stop and don't want to risk that happening to our BB.

Thanks Trout. It is one of my very favorites!!! A true must see. BTW, I was able to continue with other web functions while it downloaded; and it didn't take as long as your system took. - RT

Thank you so much! I have been e mailed about a zillion copies of this with requests to put it on the board.
I will see about FTPing it to the site for download, but can't put it on the board.
Thanks!

Yeah, the video is a hoot! Much better than "almost on line" (AOL). I've gotten 4 requests and the first one I sent bombed telling me AOL mailsize is 5 meg! Damn computers anyway. May have to ask Jennie or RT for some help here as they seem to be on a much healthier internet than me.

Jennie/RT- I'll try again either this evening or in the morning, if I can't get this unit to cooperate, are you able to help distribute this "gift"?? Hate it when I let my alligator mouth override my hummingbird internet service. Not the PC, either, it's a 660mhz pentium 3 which works well.

If someone is able to send a copy of the video to me, I would love to have it. You can e-mail me at the above. Thanks, RW

RW- I'll try again for you on this video. Weird deal because it's such a large file. Some folks I sent it to received it, some didn't due to either their e-mail accounts not accepting a 9 meg file or I typed in the wrong letters (hate it when I do that!). Yahoo doesn't seem to particularly care for large files nor does Earthlink. Thought it was my system, but others have received it on different carriers. Anyway, being somewhat stubborn, I'll try again for you.

For others who could not get it for whatever the reason, I apologize for the internet system.

Thought I'd get this thread back up to the top...I've only had two requests so far...I'll probably be sorry!

Baja-

Yump'in yimminee...thanks for the assistance here. 400K should be a breeze compared to the one I have and I can't find a way to zip it. Don't think mpeg files are zippable.

You may be right on sorry, however, as they just keep coming. Sadly, I still have addresses popping up as not being able to receive it. For everyone out there, I'm getting your e-mails and trying to get this to you.

Jennie/RT- any help you can offer is also welcome.

Is this a video ad for a salmon company that you are talking about? Man vs bear? I just want to know if it the one I have seen. Thanks.

I uploaded it to my ftp site, but I don't know how to share it with you. I tried hyperlinking it in a web page and it came out code and nothing else.
Anyone help me, and I'd love to share it!

Jenny if its on your FTP people can download it. For security resons I would only grant acess to that one file. So people can't que your whole site. I have a private FTP if you want you could up it to me and I could post the info for download. Just a thought, you can also set it up to run off your server put it really ties up your resources...Jeff

Don't know if/how this works, but there are free storage sites on the internet. I've used www.xdrive.com, (http://www.xdrive.com,) you can upload your file there, grant access, then just give us all the username and password, we go to the site, bammo. Not me though, I already have it!! Gimme that fish.

Okay, folks! Baja came to my rescue and sent me his version which downloads in a breeze. So...I have all of the requestors' e-mails written down and will get this one to you all. Takes about a minute to download and it's identical to the memory sucking version I had.

Jennie, don't think I'd jeopardize the security of the site to post this for download. Just my thoughts.

Baja- thanks again! If you compressed that, I'd sure like to know what you used to do it with unless it's a secret.
