Have not posted here much but hope to do more.
Been fishing mostly on the Cowlitz from a jet boat until published reports flooded the river with evryone between Portland and Seattle wow  Did manage two summers below Blue Creek before the onslaught began.
Interesting day. It had been a while since I hiked in at the mouth so I went for a walk...... a long walk maybe 3 1/2 miles up only to skip it and walk back down below Rattlesnake to start fishing (spey).
So after the sun got off I promptly fell in while wading...bottom droped out no big deal felt kind of good actually.
Took my dog (spriner) and had a lot of snakes reported so I was a little nervous about keeping her close. Got to a nice piece of shoulder water and first cast while drifting I was looking over my shoulder and calling my dog and you know what happened next tug tug...turned around just in time to see mister/misses steelie wave goodbye.
Used a red spey fly greese line.
Nothing after that but it was fun and there are apparently fish in the system.
There ya go.
