How do some people deal with the ever present hassle of launching their drift boat (or cata-craft,etc.), finishing their drift, then getting back to their trailer at the 1st launch ramp so they can get their boat sitting at the take out ramp. I've heard about leaving a bike in the bushes (that would suck riding a bike in neoprenes and wading shoes). I know you can bring 2 rigs, but sometimes I fish alone or you drive too far to bring 2 rigs. I'm always wary of leaving gear in the boat unattended. I've held up on getting a drift boat until I can come up with some better ideas. Shuttle services can be expensive or unavailable. How do those work?

I use shuttle services. This can be as cheap as $10.00 on the N. Fk. of the Nehalem or as expensive as $95.00 on the Deschutes from Macks to the mouth. Most shuttle services are $15.00 to $20.00. Beats using two rigs when the river you plan to fish is 1-2 hours away. You could hitchhike. The ONLY hitchhiker I pick up is one who is wearing waders! http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Fish mojo,
If you fish by yourself, a shuttle service in my opinion is the way to go. The cost isn't bad if you consider the other shuttle options or how valuable your time is. If you have a good friend that isn't going with you that day, you could have them shuttle your rig down for you when you launch. I have done this for people before on my way to work in the morning. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
