 I've caught this fish and several like it on the Columbia River (just North (upstream) of Wenatchee, Wa) - I've also caught something similar on the Willamette and at Mason Lake near Belfair, Wa) http://www.geocities.com/the_redings/whatkind.JPG

Thanks in advance.

Pea mouth have a much smaller mouth (as in the shape of a pea), that my friend is most certainly a Northern Pikeminnow aka Squaw fish. DO a little research on where to sign up, and they are work 4 bucks a pop.

Thanks for all the input - now that I know what to look up (on the internet) it does look to be the Northern Pikeminnow. See the pic and website pikeminnow (http://www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/InfoCntrFish/InterFish/criwebpage/pikeminn.htm)

Thanks all!!!

Yea it sure looks pretty green for a sqawfish but the split tail is a give away.

When i took in about 40 fish and thought that i had a good day the checker for squaw fish said that i had everything but a squaw fish . They showed me pictures of squaw fish and said to look for the teeth . None of the fish that i had were fish with teeth . I fish and and have caught a lot of Walleye's and know what they looks like .

That is not a squaw fish. It is a sucker and yes I have heard them called pea mouths. Squaw fish have a mouth and jaw more like a trout. That thing has a rounded sucker mouth. Squaw fish are generally grey/silver not green/brown. I have made a dollar or two off Squaw fish and that will get you a laugh at the checker.

Wait I think I can feel some teeth in there.

I sure hope this is a sqawfish or I have been murdering a lot of innocent suckers!

This argument is ridiculous....IT IS A *********. suckers have mouths that are on under the bottom of their face. ********* can be VERY green in color depending on water varience and bottom structure....just like bass....Regardless of weather it has teeth or not, you wouldn't be able to tell because the fish is angled away in the pic. That thing could have rattlesnake fangs and you wouldnt be able to tell. The only other species it could be is a hybrid. *********, and peamouth chub can get it on and produce a tweener species of ********* that has a smaller more round mouth barely big enought to suck down smolt, and those are also worth 4 bucks. Its not a sucker, and its not a peamouth, its not a sturgeon, peakcock bass, Yellowstone cutthroat, brook trout, tarpon, or Marlin, its also not a King, or chum salmon, or a perch, or a steelhead. THis fish is also not a crappy, nor is it a one eyed wrinkle necked trouser trout. IT IS A ******* SQUAW. sorry for the rant, not much sleep last night.

Hey NICE SQuaw Beetlespin! i caught a 21 incher ealier this year, probably not as long as yours though!
