I want improve on my amount of time for fishing. I hope to win the lottery. I think with more time, all sorts of things will just fall into place. How much more? Well, I think I could be quite happy fishing about 5 days a week. Doesn't have to be all day, like I do now, since the days are so rare. It could be for just an hour or two. That sounds just plain lazy and wonderful.

I'd like to improve on dead drifting nymphs. I don't know how to do it very well. Specially without an indicator. Seems like magic to watch folks sense an set a hook on a fish that I could see no evidence of its existence.

It's mending the line for me.... I pretty much suck at that... :help: Not that I'm that good at any other part of fly fishing, but this kills me every time.

I second TroutGirl. I'm about ready to give up on steelhead fly fishing and I try to use the no-indicator dead drift often. :help:

3RiversBob: When I'm trout fishing I look for where different currents come together and put a nymph right through the intersection line. Also, fish the edge of currents when you're using a dry. Some pretty basic suggestions, but I hope it helps someone.

...my double haul. I know I'm going to need that one of these days when a big trevally or permit is cruising just out of reach. And I'll tell myself again I wished I practiced that more

Mine would have to be my spey casting. It's not that I'm all that bad, I get the job done but I would like to use a couple diffrent cast and master every line I have. I recently took up a skagit line and not many problems there but I would like to be able to cast river left just as good as river right etc.

Distance roll casting, it seems like 70% of the time I am fishing, I dont need or cant do a back cast.

My distance roll cast is lacking too. I tried learning single hand spey casting last summer and if I can ever get that down I won't even use a roll cast.

I would like to improve my pressure casts, casting in the presences of others. Nothing like having no casting issues all morning and having a drift boat come around the corner and hang your fly 30 ft behind you in a tree limb. Not that i care what others think, just frustrating that it only (90%) happens in the prescences of others. Guess my nerves of steel need some more forging.
