I live in West Salem and have fished the area somewhat. I personally don't do all that well in that area but there are a few people on ifish that have done quite well. My time on the water right now is somewhat limited but I will write down you phone number and when I do have some time I would be happy to take you out in your boat or mine and show you what I do know.

I look forward to it. I want to fish the Willamette (tried near Wheatland once) but I am spooked that I will wreck my props. My boat:

You are welcome to join me sometime. The Willi in salem is very low now and there are a few spots by the ramp you can catch smallies but it is too low to go the best spots with a prop.

There are several good bass fishing spots close by Salem for non motorized boats to include St Louis Ponds, Willamette Mission Ponds, and Minto Brown Island Ponds, I would probably only eat and keep bass out of St. Louis.

You cannot use a boat at St. Louis Ponds. Minto Brown is boatable, but there is no ramp, and no vehicle access to the water. It is better suited for rafts and canoes, which can be carried to the launch point. That said, those two can be very good for bass.

Thanks, I didn't know about the no boat rule for St. Louis Ponds.
