Well I did it again. I overlooked a simple task.

I put off greasing my bearings on my trailer. I hate fighting with my grease gun. Last Thusday I went fishing out of Washougal. Had fun, caught fish. On the way home, my brother called me and said there was smoke coming from the right wheel. We nursed it home. The right hub was toast. :help:

I called around, seems Six Roblees was the best bet. New hub $17.00. :yay:
Took the good hub down to match it up. The nice man tried to be gentle and tell me, they don't make them that small anymore. :bigshock: The only choice I had was to replace the axel and hubs with all new parts. :passout:

The nice man said he had all the parts, just needed the measurement on the axel. I gingerly asked the total price. Here goes another $400.00 me thinks.

My wife had that " looks like you have plenty of time around the house before we can afford this" look on her face. :depressed:

The nice man came back with the estimate. :help:
New axel with hanger bolts, guides, hubs with bearing kits--111.00> :bigshock: :passout:
:yeahthat:
My wife had her card out before I could reach mine. :yay:

My brother and I dug in today and removed and replaced the axel assembly. After having to cut the old bolts off, another $15.00 for new bolts. Total cost---$126.00.

My wife :flowered: bless her heart. She came to me and said- We could cash 2 of my savings bonds to offset the cost.

Soooooo.: Axel kits and assy--111.00, new bolts 15.00, less 2 savings bonds 104.00==========New axel assy for $22.00. :yay: :yay:

I love my wife. :flowered: :bearhug:

If only Oprah would put more of these stories on TV... it could save a lot of relationships.
