Just got off the lower river from 30 mile down to Cottonwood and it was a slay fest!!! We caught well over a 100 bass for 3 anglers and averaged about 25 a day for 3 days. Green colored gitzits and 3 inch Kalin's pumpkinseed grubs seemed to work best in the middle of the day. Poppers fished with 5 wt fly rods were a hoot in the early morning and late evening. No large fish, the biggst one boated was just over 15 inches but we did get some dandy channel cats. I got one just over 25 inches that was the tastiest fish I've ate in awhile!! We even caught one on a fly rod with an egg sucking leach in about 4 ffet of water  We plunked bait in the transition areas between a big back eddy and the tail out using that Berkley catfish bait, stuff rocks! Even though the weather was scorching the wind wasn't as bad as I've seen it and we just floated down in our life jackets in alot of areas. Go get'em

The top one was a cool action pic of my buddy slaying them on a popper. Second was our preferred mode of transportation that weekend. The third is a cool shot at some petraglyphs found all voer that canyon. Like I said we didn't get any hoogs but I sure wish i would have snapped some pics of those cats.

What kind of wildlife did you run into on your trip?
Those pictures got my blood flowing. I think I know where I'll be this weekend.

We got a long distance look at some big horns through the glasses, fairly close look at some antelope on the way, and more danged chuckars than I have ever seen in my life! they were chuck, chucking all day. An old eagles nest was also a star attraction along with two beavers. That canyon is the real attraction, fishing is just a bonus
