My wife and I went camping this weekend at Triangle Lake (Lake Creek Campground) and had a great time. The fishing was almost impossible because of boat traffic. I got this one shortly after we arrived and then just a few others here and there but we mostly swam and slid down the rock slide at Lake creek on out butts (fun!). Never got up early or night fished.
A cool little lake! tough fishing, very clear, shows potential to produce big fish as this 7 lber was very healthy and young. The bottom is pretty much featureless as far as I can tell. One rocky point and one creek with a nice ledge. LONG drive from North Plains!

Great job Dave. :applause: :applause: :applause: Nice fish. Sounds like you had to work just to fish but fighting boat traffic is always worth it for a fish like that.

Nice pic too.
Sounds like you have a good time. Rock slide??? Sounds interesting.
I've looked at this lake on the map as we're headed to Siltcoos and Takenitch, but just haven't made it there yet.

Thanks, guys. I got the inspiration to at least try from Roger talking about catching fish this usually tough (for me) time of year. In no way do I have anything figured out, but it was incouraging to at least catch a decent fish. Maybe there's hope- I normally pretty much give up between May and October (for big fish) but I want to crack it open this summer if I can find time to go! Dave

Nice fish on a tough lake this time of year. Good job. Normally I just find a good chrome rattletrap bite this time of year out there.

That`s a great fish on a tough lake. I`ve fished it a couple of times and only caught fish in the 2# range, it`s full of fat fish though, they feed on the Kokanee. Look at the pictures at the store sometime.

30+ years ago my dad and I would row the driftboat around Triangle and catch scads of panfish(mostly gills) and the occasional bass... I'm really curious, when you talk about all the boaters, is it ok to use motors on Triangle now? One of the reasons it used to be kinda isolated and never crowded was it was a no motor lake.
