I have been upholsterring my boat the past couple of weeks and was putting panels back on. In the process I broke a small piece of plastic on the inside of the throttle control which help in place two male end contact points for two which two wires attached.

First of all where and what are these two wires for?
Secondly can I replace this piece or do I have to get an entirely new throttle control?

Any help on this is appreciative as I want to get on the water and just fish.

First guess is electric tilt/trim but without more information it is impossible to tell.

I doubt it's back-up lights. :hoboy:

It is the starter cut-out switch that keeps you from starting the motor in gear. I would call the manufacturer of the control, and they would likely send you a replacement part if it can be fixed. Or you could just glue the parts back in place with some of that epoxy putty or hot melt glue and keep using it.
