I was over at Wickiup and saw a Stryker Sportjet that was set up to steer the kicker from the helm - it was a push/pull cable connection from the pump steering arm to the kicker. Does anyone know who makes it?
Thanks,
John
PS - I know TR1 is best way to go, but cant yet justify the cost.

It's called a LeVincy steering system! They run about $500.00.

Thanks Pickles, do you use one? Is there anyone else here who has any experience with this setup? How about the ConTrollKing throttle control Levincy shows on the website?
Good luck! When I had my sportjet the only viable option was the TR1. I got the TR1, and then I got rid of the sportjet, going back to an outboard but keeping the TR1, LOL. Maybe there's something new out there, hope ya find it!!!!

We used to have an EZ Steer set up from our pump to the troller and it worked OK. We have since switched to a TR-1. The EZ Steer was hooked to a V8 pump and I don't know if they have a set-up for a Sport Jet. Here is their numbers to call if you want 425-259-5476 1-800-634-7838. Good Luck.

I know you can't justify the cost of a TR-1, but you can buy a used one! I purchased mine for $400.00 on the Ifish classifieds. I see them on Ebay every once in a while. I got my friends for $279.00 plus the cost of some hydraulic fluid and hose on Ebay! My friend bought another one off of here for his brother for $350.00, but had to purchase a new hyrdrualic ram and mounting hardware for it from Nautamatic at $250.00 to make it fit his motor $600 total. The TR-1 is your best choice even if it isn't the gold! Just stay away from the TR-1 2000. They were not as well built as the originals or the Golds. If you find one don't worry about whether or not it was set for your motor. You can always buy a new hydraulic cylinder and mounting hardware for your particular motor!
