Here is the specific text posted to the WDFW website:

The run size forecast upper Columbia River adult spring chinook for 2001 has been made. An estimated 364,600 fish are expected to return to the mouth of the Columbia next year. The run is predicted to be comprised of 330,500 four year-olds and 34,100 five year-olds.
The forecasted upper Columbia adult spring chinook return in 2001 represents a dramatic increase from the 178,600 fish that actually returned in 2000. The 2000 forecast was for a return of 134,000 adults.

The 2001 upper Columbia adult spring chinook return is expected to be well above the 1996-2000 average of 84,200 adults and the 1991-2000 average of 71,300 fish. The 2001 return is expected to be the largest since record keeping began at Bonneville Dam in 1938.

Have you taken a moment to write a couple letters to Congressman to help get our fair share of 1/3 million springers coming? - RT
