collection for Osprey

I think we should band together and start a collection for osprey. $5/piece will go far in helping a fellow angler in replacing his gear. If others are willing I will start a collection, let me know. I will start with $10 to the cause.

Ya know, that same thought crossed my mind for Os.
We should have some sort of emergency fund for our fellow fishermen when things like this happen.
We could have a council of people who decide who qualifies for the fund.
Any more ideas?

Hey Jen,

We could all contribute to a collection of rods, reels and tackle that could be used as loaners for people who find themselves in Os unfortunate situation. This would help people along untill they get back on their feet. You would still need a council who sets some ground rules - loan period, amount, etc. - and distributes. A very worthwhile endeavor.

This topic has got me thinking. In the holiday spirit this concept could be carried even further. Ifish could collect money to buy fishing gear for kids and distribute it around the hoildays. Businesses and individuals could be approached to donate equipment . This could be a wonderful annual event. Santa RT and the Ifish elves could ride around town in a wood drifter and distribute the goodies. The possibilities are endless. It makes me feel good just thinking about it.

Ifish could also select different kid, senior and handicapped oragnizations each year and Ifishers could have a "Fishing with Future Fishers Day." The loaner collection could be use for these events.

Maybe we need a "Ifish-Icare" organization that would organize and oversee these activities? Community and corporate sponsorship would be fairly easy for these kinds of activites and events.

I would love to be involved in this kind of project and would contribute time and energy.
