Osprey

Things started off not too bad Friday morning, till I went out to my work van and discovered that some low life S.O.B. had cleaned me out all my power tools along with some very personal stuff that belonged to my late father( I can't replace this http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif
To make matters worse I check out my pick-up...ditto cleaned out down to the change in the ashtray that means 2 rods and reels and a ton of tackle .
Next they hit the wifes Jeep took stupid stuff like her school bag and such
So took the day off ,had to wait for the locks smith to re-key the house ,Jeep etc.(they took my set of keys,
We moved to country to avoide this, we never use to lock our rigs ,heck I leave my keys in the work van....not again
good thing ,they tried to hit my neighbors house early saturday night, they tripped the alarm never got a look at them ,they better hope I never do...took the plug outa the shotgun,if their too far away ,that's when we bring out the .06
we fired the dog she sleeps too sound
so I guess I'm starting basicly from scratch....already replaced one reel ....THIS BITES http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Osprey, sorry about you misfortune. I would love to help you catch those sob's. They need to be whipped with some spider-wire, hooks and all. I too moved to the country and had my mail stolen. Had too many mail boxes smashed. Had to get a PO Box. I feel for your loss. I too have lots of tackle ect. Would have a heck of a time replacing stuff. Take care. Hope someone chatches the sob's. Pray that santa give them a shovel load of coal.

Osprey,
Sorry to hear of your problems. One more good reason to fight against gun control.
When those ole boys come in your place and hear you loading up - they get out quick!
Your insurance gonna cover it? Maybe we need to take a I-fish offering?

Check the local hock shops, they will most likely sell your stuff. They keep record of everyone who pawns anything, then you can hunt them down and use them as crab bait. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

O's
That just bites. Nothing lower than stealing from somebody. A couple months ago some perp broke into my truck and took credit cards, etc etc.... A couple years ago had my trolling motor taken off the boat by moonlight. I know your pain.
If you catch them, blow a couple holes in them for me, I never caught my friendly thiefs.
Make sure you file a police report for the insurance company to come thru later.

Os sorry to hear about that. I got hit a couple months ago, but didn't have the fishing gear in the rig. Getting ready to put a order in for some of the rods and I know you were interested. Give me a ring and I will put some on the list.
Do you think the dog was involved http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Mine went crazy when I got hit,but I ignored it.....whoops missed my target practice.

That really sucks Mike! If you need a couple loaner rods and reels I can easily meet you about halfway on I-5. Just happens to be pretty close to the Cowlitz too. Let me know. - Steve

Horrible! Sorry to hear that. It so happens that while I was trying some holes down by the Wilson on Sunday, and when I returned to my truck, it was unlocked and missing a new set of waders I had stashed behind the seat and about 30 cds! Grumblegrumble...live and learn I guess.
Another reason to remember... You don't need a concealed weapons permit to carry a weapon concealed while fishing...! Never leave home without it.

Osprey, sorry to hear of your loss!!! I could be talked into beating the crap out any and all thieves if you ever find out who did it.It would be a pleasure!! It is too bad you can't trust anybody anymore. Chances are it is somone you know, and think you can trust.

Osprey, I know your pain. I've had my rigs hit three times over the years and another two times where they damaged the doors but didn't get in. Only once did they catch the people on one of the incidents. It was a theft ring by teenage kids and I worked at the time with one of them. He tipped his freinds to when I would be at work and kept lookout. One of my brothers caught up with one of the @ssh0le$ and broke his nose for me. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif I agree with Sledder, it probally is someone you know. Another time I lost a CB out of my vehicle, I'm still convinced to this day that it was my neighbor or one of his pals. Look close to home first and when you find them give us his home adress and we will throw him a house-warming party with a match and a bucket of gas if you know what I mean! http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I can only imagine back in the old days when it was the law of the land. It would have been unthinkable to steal another persons fishing, hunting, trapping items. Or their way of feeding their family. Ofcourse, we don't really rely on it, today, so much to "feed the family" but? Power tools or whatever I guess. revenge
It is amazing just within a few people here how common theft is. My family car was broken into just last week!

Osprey,
Just as well you did not catch them. After you opened up a can of whip a$$, they would proably sue you, and get away with that too. Wasn't it 5 LOOMIS rods, 5 Calcuttas, 5 Lamiglass's, 5 Chronarcs, 5 tackle boxes, 2 Mustang survival suits, and your stereo? Easily $8000-$10,000 dollars worth. I'm not telling you to lie, as we all know fishermen never lie. If you do catch them, remove hands and teeth. Almost impossible to identify. May the gods of fishing equipment shine their ever luving light on you.
