I bought a used koffler and it was originaly painted black. It looked good for a while new but my buddy guided out of it quite a bit and the paint is hammered. I think I might go Vinyl at some point, but I'm building a new shop and I know it will go over budget, so.. to my question How do I remove the paint from the drift boat, Chemy's, or abrasive?

Any help is much apreciated. I have it off the trailer right now putting a new layer of Coat It on so the time is right.

What does the paint look like? flaking off or just dull? most times you could just wet sand the old paint if in good shape seal and repaint, if it needs to be removed i would recomend aircraft stripper to remove the paint completely, acid treat the alunium seal with a 2 part expoxy sealer then retop coat, and then even put a clear on top,

I do quite a bit of powdercoating on previously painted aluminum, aircraft stripper is my best friend. If the paint is especially tough, scratch it up with an SOS pad first, that will help it get going.

When it's done, hose or scrape it off and get your paint on.

It has lots of rock chips from gravel roads, and some deep scratches, so total removal sounds like the solution
