My buddy just got a shiny new fiberglass drift boat. Some of his friends have studded wading boots that will marr the floor.
Where can you find some flooring that can be cut to shape? If any of you have ideas of this please comment.

I run thick outdoor carpeting from Home Depot. It works for me. He could also look into getting some new friends
Horse mats from the farm supply places.

I was concerned about the same thing with my Clackacraft. So, I made a trip to Home Depot and bought one of their remnants if I/O carpet for about $20. I cut sections to fit each section of the boat to protect the floor from studs. I just laid the front and rear sections in - the rubber backing keeps them from slipping around. No adhesive needed and I can pull them out any time to hose them off and clean the floor. The center section was the ost complicated, as I had to pull the foot rest and anchor bracket out. I had to bolt the stuff down on top of the carpet. Here are some pics:

I think it ended up looking nice and functional - not bad for $20.

But one of his friends is me, a 54 year old with not nearly as good a footing these days, therefore studs.

I second the use of stall mats ... the ones with holes in them like you see sometimes in restaurants and such. You can trim to fit, they are about an 1" thick, really good for knees and back at end of the day, lift out to clean, drain good. You can get them at Home Depot now back by the doormats. I have them in my Striper partly for cushion and partly to keep from sliding. makes floor clean up real easy too.

I used truck bed mats in my boat - just trim to fit. Found them at Les Schwab - they have different sizes and thicknesses and are simular to the Stall Mats - those work good too. Should work good in your drifter. Just trim to fit.

Thanks for all the replies. He went with a temporary fix for this weekend, he had indoor carpet remnants that were roughly cut to fit.
Will look at indoor carpet, stall mats and truck mats and decide.
The Clack is a beautiful boat with well laid out storage, lower sides for easier entry.
