Rmoving lower unit on kicker

It appears as though the drive shaft on my kicker is stuck, preventing the lower-unit from coming-off the motor. I've removed all retaining bolts and the shift linkage, I even checked for another bolt under the anode.

Any suggestions/tips for getting the drive-shaft to break loose?

It's an early 1990's Yamaha 9.9 2-stroke long-shaft. I bought it used, and wanted to check the waterpump before I start relying on the engine.
