Now first off, I am no rookie when its comes to fishing but I will have to blame my own carelessness for this bonehead move. Went shad fishing for the first time this year on 5/29/06, let's say I made another bonehead move by going on a holiday/weekend because everybody and their cousin was fishing. Talk about combat fishing, there was a line of cars when Bonneville opened at 7am.
Anyways on the northern bank of Robbins Island I was about to make a cast, brought back my rod, for some reason not looking behind me, made the cast forward and next thing I knew I see a rod/reel combo go flying into the water about a couple of feet in front of me. It took a second for me to register that it was my own gear.
Now I understand that it is highly improbable that anyone will find this combo and that it is also highly improbable that some one will return that combo after finding it. This post is more of therapy for me in helping vent out my frustration for such a moronic mistake. My brother was even wondering why I had brought two spare rod/reels combos in the first place.
LOST:
I think it was a 5.5' or 6' Ugly Stik Lite.
A smaller Daiwa Regal spinning reel w/6 lb. Ultragreen Maxima.
Note to the finder: Enjoy this combo because that is in my mind one of the best spinning reels ever.
