Abu Garcia 5601AB Reel Review

Has anyone fished with the Abu Garcia 5601AB reel? The reel is designed to eliminate backlashes, and has the ability to cast light lures. Any comments would be appreciated.

My dad had one and he said every time he wanted to cast a little harder the brake would come on.So he sold it and went with a 5600 C4.I use 4600 and 5600 C4's and love them.Best thing to do is go try one before you buy it.Try casting light and gradually throw harder and see what you think.I think you will find out the brake on the AB system is a pain.TM "Timber faller and proud of it"

What kind of reel did you use before,and what kind of fishing are you doing.personally
no reel is really backlash proof,It just takes some pratice.And if you spend any amount of time on the river,you'll eliminate
most of the those birds nests.

I just bought my first bait cast reel.

Did ok with it first time. Make sure the brake is set according to amount of weight on line.
