View Full Version : Request For Leave of Absence

Dianne and I are leaving for a tour of China.

In my absence, I have asked my latest semi-conservative convert, RT, to stand in for me. I know he will do a fine and upstanding job. (Remember Rt, when Reagan was Pres and had a Demo congress, He [note the bibical capitilization] gets the credit...When Clinton, the sexualy obsessed, was President and had a Republican Congress, the Congress gets the credit.)

I will get the election results while standing somewhere within the blood soaked cobbles of Tienamin Square. If the Communist Party Apparatchiks are dancing in the square singing "God Bless America, Our Newest Satilite Nation" (A song written about eight years ago), I'll know that Gore won. If they are despondant and asking the Beijing students for forgiveness, I'll know that Bush won. If they look puzzled, I'll wonder where all of those Nader voters came from.

In the mean time, you'll all be dealing with RT....No more Mr. Nice Guy.

Bring it on.

Hey Crusty and Diane, I hope you have a nice and safe visit to China. Don't worry about a thing here on the board, I'm sure things will roll right along. And I'm sure the "Board ****" won't allow to much talking behind your back while you are gone (jk). We'll miss your humor (I guess that's what you call it,jk) Seriously have a nice trip, and we'll hear from you when you get back.........Bobber Down

I am going to miss your post Crusty. Leaving just before election day could sway the balance of power on ifish. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I hope you have a safe and fun trip.

Oh, I think the balance will be just fine while ol' Crusty is over 'stumping' on the Great Wall of China, Roy. He e-mailed me prior to get my permission to represent him in political posts while he's away. Considering our privious political discourse from the opposite leanings I must say that I am overwhelmed with pride that John (Crusty) would give me this honor. I just posted under the "Bush or Gore" thread that I was sitting this one out. Now I will enter that arena there as two personnas; may even have to get tough with myself in schitzophrentic delight http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif . This could be fun. Or not. Gee, the next thing ya know I'll be drinking beer at OLC's place on election night http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif . Isn't the power of inner caring and camraderie on the Ifish BB cool or what?!? See ya under Bush or Gore. -- Edit: Oh man, I just went and read the GW vs Al thread and I think this could be enough of a bite I'm thinking about chewing on here that I could wind up in a permanent hydorcodone state of mind. Yikes. I think I better stick to the simple stuff only http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif I'll do my best John. If I'm totally looney by the time you return, well then things will be pretty much the same as they are now http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif .

Crusty:

Hope all will go well. Sorry to see you leave for awhile. The new manager you are getting for Estacada(sp) from Wheeler is a Ten Speed. You can not do better. I have worked with a lot and he is one of the best.

I had a political post that I thought I would put here but I 'll put it somewhere else.

Here I will just say take care and be safe and enjoy what sounds like a fantastic trip.
