Two lurkers won. I believe one of their SN's is BassManDan? I remember it was BassMan somthing, I think Smiley would have won if his luck with trolling motors hadnt hit it. They were culling by 11am with 10-12lb in the boat.

Another great BfB tourney. There were 50 boats for this one. It took 20+ to do well, I finished just under 15 pounds. Big fish were shallow, some on beds, some guarding fry. Tenmile in May is the place to be.

Ya, Smiley and I had some good things going on, but with the trolling motor busted and the wind we had after about 11:00 we were just dead in the water. We culled one small fish with another small fish after that. At least we have a good excuse for not placing well.

Can you beleive that the winning weight was 25.5 #`s????????? Some southern tournaments don`t even come close to that. that`s amazing.

Bassin...your right that weight is amazing...but don't forget this tourney allowed us six fish when most tourneys on Tenmile only allow five. It was a great tourney though I stunk it up pretty bad. Had my chances but didn't connect when it counted.

My partner and I finished in 4th place with just over 19 lbs. Third place had 19 lbs+ and second had 22 lbs and 25lbs won. I lost two toads that really cost us when they just didn't swallow the bait well enough. I stayed over and fished on Sunday and there was a lite rain and they were chomping. It is amazing how many fish are in that lake.

Congrats Doug! I don't know where we finished with 17 pounds, but we just never hooked or saw anything over 3 pounds. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun! It's hard to beat that lake in May, always lots of fish biting.

This year was alot more frustrating than years past. The guys the won the tourney fished only beds, and I heard rumor that they "scouted" the day before. Not sure if that part is true or not. I past years the fish were on the edges of the weed beds and would actively bite spinner, plastics and jigs. Not so much this year. It was a good year to be a bed fisherman. We had about 12-13lbs and did not even take to time to weigh after we realized that we would not be anywhere close to the money. Oh well, there is always next year.

I thought it was terrible bed fishing myself. The water dropped at least a foot in a week and we looked everywhere and saw only a few small fish up to 3 lbs maybe. The week before they were on beds and big ones. I know 2nd place was not bed fishing, but I don't know about the winners :smirk: I think they live right across the street from Osprey Point RV park.

We weighed in one close to 4 off a bed, but most of the ones we looked at were really skittish and not worth spending much time on.
Lots of boats had chances at big fish..it came down to getting all 6 good bites into the boat. Thats a tourney everyone should fish.
