There is a really nice Procraft over here at Lakeside that wih just a bit of cleanup could be great starter boat, Was asking $7,900 last year and is aking $7,000 this year. I think that you could talk him down even more. It needs polishing, but it`s not bad yet so you could over emphisize that point.
I might even sell ya mine.
1987 Tracker, (Glass) not tin. It`s in decent shape for it`s age. 1800 FS, Merc 150! I`d have to have at least $5,500 for it. I hadn`t really thought much about selling it, But!

Nunez,
What are you looking for? Glass or Alum?
What do you plan to pull it around with? Weight does matter.
Keep in mind that in an older used boat, all your really buying is the motor...so make sure it checks out ok. Check the compression of all the cylinders and compare against factory specs. Try and get a sense about it's maintance...when was the last time the lower unit oil was changed, when were the trailer bearings changed. If the answers don't come quick or things seem made up, pass.
On alum boats look for loose rivets, you can see some evidense of rivet wiggle by the marks on the alum around the rivet. Make sure the transom is not rotten, tap on it and listen for a solid thud or a rotten thunk, look for swelling in the glass.
AND CHECK THE BLUE BOOK for comparisions. Older boats that have been used little and stored in a garage are true gems. Don't figure on much for useful electronics and bowmounts, they usually are so old they are worthless and/or obsolete. Always ask for a test drive before you exchange money.
Good luck, there are lots of decent boats around.
Just remember, after you buy run it through the mill on maintance checks: change the batteries, replace the bilge pump with one twice as big, check the running lights (Bow & Stern) and make sure you have all the appropriate boaters safety gear. If your in Oregon, I'd start reading up on the boaters safety stuff now for your test. (Boaters safety card required now.)
And last Have Fun! And Fish, Fish, Fish!

Pic's guys, pics....
Let's see some pics added of these prospects. Edit your posts and add a pic and lets see if we can find him a fish catch'n ride!
Besides, we all just hate to look at boats don't we??
BTW, my uncle (fellow Ifisher "Grumpy Grupper) has a 16' Smoker Magnum w/ 25 or 30hp Yamaha & matching kicker for sale. It's up on Craigslist for $3600. Newly remodeled and painted.
