Well, me and my buddy Ron decided it was time to start catching some bass, and made our first outing of the year yesterday. With the water starting to warm, we figured we had a good shot at a few. The fishing turned out to be nothing short of fabulous :smash: We ended up with a total of 47 landed after 5 hours of fishing :smash: Not a bad start at all. We both forgot our cameras, but we did bring 2 smallmouth home for Dinner which we got a snapshot of. I love this time of year!!. Out of 47 fish, 8 were large mouth. What a beautiful day to be out fishin. 4" Senco's (watermelon) were the top producers today, but we did get a few on Cranks and swimbaits. It should even get better in the coming weeks

Did you fish the scappose area? Just curious, don't need spots but just wondering if you were on the willy?

Way to go! Good to see you choose a couple "empty belly" fish. Those big females are off limits until they finish making more little basses for us.
Yea, I was also wondering if you were fishing Columbia or Willey?

Nice work Blacktail :applause: :applause: Sounds like you guys pounded them!! I've never fished for smallies in that area but my folks live in Warren and I'm there often enough. Tough to go after smallies in that area with springers being somewhat in though

Sorry, I should have mentioned a general location. It was in the MC. And your right, it's tough to switch gears when the springers are in, but we absolutely love bass fishing as well this time of year and Crappie when it gets a bit warmer. I know there are some that strictly fish Salmon and steelhead, and i used to be one of them folks, but once you get out and explore all the other options, it's really allot of fun, and now it's just one more thing i look forward too every year  Definitely good times
