Hello Bass masters!
I usually frequent the saltydogs board and occasionally read some of the posts here. I was talking to my neighbor and he said that he loved bass fishing so I was thinking about taking him out in my drift boat for smallies.

Are there any good bass drift trips around PDX?

Thanks for the help!!!

Not a lot of good places to drift in the metro area for bass. If you have an electric you could run the willamette. You could run up to the John Day, but the flows have been difficult. If it were me, I would run down to the Umpqua and run that. Should be awesome for big fish right now.

There is some great smallmouth fishing just upriver from Mololla State Park on the Willie. There is a boat ramp at the park and not much current so you could row along the shoreline to fish. You could cover a lot more water if you had a small motor.
Mololla Park is on the Canby side of the river right close to the Canby ferry. Take the same road.

You could drift the Willamette anywhere in the Salem / Corvallis area (Buena Vista? has a ramp), there's a rough gravel bar "ramp" at Wheatland and I think there's a ramp near the mouth of the Santiam. If you go this time of year there are some Salmon around!!! Sorry I'm so vague, I'm not trying to be zipperlipped, I just don't own a drift boat........YET!!

Good luck!
