Anybody heard what is happening on the Alsea and/or Yaquina?

Ed, fished the Alsea just downstream from Taylor Landing on Friday for few hours with a friend. Caught one chinook and lost a big one on a piling. We were fishing with cut plug herring. My friend who lives on the river, saw several more chinook caught in this area on Saturday. BillK

Fished down river from Toledo on Saturday and saw only 3 fish boated all day, none for us. Lots of boats plying the water and everyone was extremely friendly and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I picked up two fish sat 27 and 11lbs below Kozy. The crowds and attitudes hardly made it worth two fish. Had a better day on the Siletz today even without catching (ok we caught 30 bullheads).
Thanks. It is nice to hear from folks who fish "down here". I really appreciate the tips, techniques, and reports presented on this site. However, the north coast, as opposed to the central coast, is not within easy striking distance for me. The Siuslaw, Siletz, Yaquina, Alsea, mid-Willamette, and the Santiams are rivers I can regularly fish. So please feel free to post reports on these rivers. I am sure there are great things happening down south too. So let's hear about all of them http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif Right-on! And left-handed reels rule! (if you're right handed that is).

Ed, one of the best things happening, actually not happening, is that "down there" you don't get as much crowding from the large metro area populations. I'll trade you more reports for that scenario any day! You will find some of your area posts on here occassionally though. Thanks. - RT
