View Full Version : Wood boats
Was rereading the wood drift boat post and realized that I had failed to mention something I saw 2 weeks ago. I was waiting for clients and pulls a home made wooden sled. This thing was gorgeous! He worked on it for 2 years in all of his spare time he said, but was it worth it...later on in the day we pulled into a spot and there he was...so I took my clients over to get a better look...what a thing of beauty!
Oh well...thats my input for the day.

Jim,
Thanks for the updated thoughts. I have been researching this project for quite some time and thought this would be the perfect winter project in-between steelhead fishing trips. From all the information I have gathered I've heard more positives than negatives especially if you have the time and space to build one. I will let you know how thing turn out.
Thanks again for all the comments,
Wog

Wood boats definately have their place, warmer, quieter, slower to be pushed by wind, paints up better, easier to mount attatchments...my first was a open Dillabough I think I spelled it right. Fished it until it was so rotten that my dad sold it as a lawn orniment...
