Just got a new ultralite and looking for some input. I have been using Maxima Ultra Green due to it being pretty limp and casts well. Any others I should try?

Mono line should be compared by diameter rather than test since most manufacturers claim that their line is the strongest at a given test by under-rating its strength so you end up with four pound test that should be called eight.
Tectan, available from Cabela's, claims to have the highest strength to diameter ratio. McCoy's Mean Green is another fine mono. Yozuri's Hybrid is another option.

Maxima Ultra Green no doubt... the line is smooth and like you said it does cast well.

I use Maxima Ultra Green. One trick that i was told about a few years ago is to soak you're line, for 2 minutes, in the hottest water that you're tap will yield and then imediatly put it on the reel. It will have no memory in it.

I vote for Yozuri's Hybrid. Very strong, smooth casting very managable line. I would have to say i would be nervious to soak my line in very hot water because i've noticed heat tends to kill mono
