When bobber fishing like on the trask tidewater how deep should I fish the eggs/sandshrimp?

Fishon,
What I do is move my bobber stopper around until I find bottom. After I find bottom I raise it about 4 to 5 ft. It seems to have worked pretty good for me. On the tidewater of the Trask you could be setting your bobber anywhere from 7 - 16 ft. from your hook.

fishon, If you don't get any action at one depth, try moving up 18" or so and try that. Fish change depths depending on conditions. Keep moving your depth to find the fish. Good luck.

Also remember its better to have your bait above the fish than below. I've seen many a fish come up for a bait, but I've never had much luck when the bait was fished below them.

Good information provided above. What I like to do is start shallow and work my way deeper especially if you don't know the depth of the hole you are fishing. I'll move my bobber depth between 1-2 feet and sometimes that is all it takes. Good luck.

That's a good starting point Tanner. If you find bottom with your lead, move the stopper up about 4 1/2', and are using about a 2 1/2' leader you are at a good place about 18" to 2' above bottom with your bait (which sinks with the hook). If you aren't getting bites then try it up shallower, maybe 4' to 5' off bottom then try right down within 1' of bottom. Also try different egg cures and bait scents at several levels. Then try a deep slow retrieve with size 4 silver Virax (or other) spinners. Don't sit there and fish lazy; work it and your averages will go up!
