Thanks for the following piece of wisdom Jeff.

BLESSINGS
>
> If you woke up this morning with more health than
> illness...you are more blessed than the million
> who will not survive this week.
>
> If you have never experienced the danger of battle,
> the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of
> torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead
> of 500 million people in the world.
>
> If you can attend a church meeting without fear of
> harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more
> blessed than three billion people in the world.
>
> If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on
> your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you
> are richer than 75% of this world.
>
> If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and
> spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the
> top 8% of the world's wealthy.
>
> If your parents are still alive and still
> married...you are very rare, even in the United
> States.
>
> If you hold up your head with a smile on your face
> and are truly thankful...you are blessed because the
> majority can, but most do not.
>
> If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even
> touch them on the shoulder...you are blessed because
> you can offer healing touch.
>
> If you can read this message, you just received a
> double blessing in that someone was thinking of you,
> and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two
> billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
>
> Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this
> along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

So in this political year it is important to remember how lucky we are to
live in this country and can vote. Also remember that even though we may
not be too excited about our prospects for candidates for president any of
them are better than what most countries have.

http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif RT, Excellent post. Brought a lot of sun shine to my day. How easy it is for one to forget how trully fortunate we are. Yes there are ups and downs, good times and bad. One thing to remember is no matter how tough it may get, if you keep a positive attitude, have perspective, hold your head up high.
Eventually you will be blessed ! Amen nice
post.

Kinda makes all of the little day to day nuances that we all complain about seem insignificant. I like that. Thanks RT.

I really so glad to see this post generate a lot of interest! It was sent to me by my friend Jeff Whitehead. Like most of us, he and I have been thru some tough times recently, and we have both come out stronger with better positive attitudes. If people could just somehow realize how well we have it and that most problems are either small ones or are challeging ones that we can overcome to a place of greater inner strength, we all would be a happier group of campers. In other words, you don't have to go thru things such as becoming a cancer survivor or going thru job displacement to see what's important and what you have if you will just take stock of your lives and put things in proper perspective with a positive attitude. These thoughts can change lives for the better! Thanks Jeff. - RT
