I was looking for any advise on buying inflatables rafts. A client in California has a Aire Puma he wants to sell. I can get the raft frame oars, life vest for about $2,000 is this a good raft how about the price?

I just sold my puma. but these are great boats for getting down the river. They are a little cramped if you are fishing two guys. The price seems a little high for the boat? Mine had the air floor frame oars and was only able to get 1500 out of it. For low flows these are hard to beat but they are a touch to small for two guys fishing. And a little to big for one guy to pack around on his own. The super puma may be the answer but I haven't tried one.

If you're looking a puma take a look at a cataraft, it's no comparision, and it's a lot easier for 1 guy to handle and launch, http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gifsorry I'm a little bias

C&R,

I'll have to agree with Osprey on this one. Catarafts are more agile and easy to control than Pumas' rafts. They also come in several sizes. They are a little more expensive, but I think a LOT more fun and easier to fish out of.

It handles great in the water and is easy to row. I was referring to if you want to go launch at places the others can't it is heavy for one guy but lighter than the cats &frame. Cats have a advantage in the casting platforms they have, but you could have a custom frame made that lets you stand more steady than merely having a hand rail. Both rafts and Cats will go places the drift boaters can't or shouldn't. I would love to have a larger puma with a solid floor attached to the rowing frame.

Thanks for the scoop guys I think i'll try a low ball offer and see what happens. I wont be fishing out of the raft much. I'm looking for something thats easy to transport and store without needing to have a trailer. I
