Crappie: Hagg, Vernonia or other?

Looking to do some crappie fishing this weekend and was wondering if anyone was having any luck or hearing anything.

I had a friend just come back from Silver, he said he did some crappie fishin and did pretty well in the pads with nightcrawlers.
