Hey all,

I've got a pair of neoprene waders that are.....well, getting ripe shall we say. Been used hard over the last year without ever being washed but they are starting to melt my eyebrows!

I've heard of washing them in a tub or even in a washing machine. What do you do?

For convenience, I'd prefer to throw them in the washing mashine but I worry about laundry soap affecting the neoprene and the agitation of the washer messing up seams. I also have some glued spots I don't want to come undone.

Am I worrying over nothing? Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Really wouldn't/couldn't recomend machine washing them.

For that meadow fresh smell that your fishing partners will appreciate.......

Hand wash in warm water in a tub or basin using Dawn dish soap, or Simple Green or Anti -Microbial soap.

Take outdoors and hose off inside (thoroughly) and outside.

Hang inside out until completely dry, then reverse.

For my neoprene wetsuits I put them in a trash can filled with water and a little downy. The downy really helps disolve the salts in the neoprene. If they are really fishy a little laundry soap would be fine. Definitely no washing machine of any kind....just soak for a few hours or over night....a little hand agitation will help. There is also a soap designed for neoprene wetsuits that is available from dive shops if your so inclined.

Just give em a toss in the trash...I know a garbage man that needs a pair...

Or just give em a good hose job and let them dry..which can be tough this time of year..

Today I came home a little egg and shrimp smelling.
I stayed outside, got a soft brush out and some woolite and took myself an out doors shower!
It was kind of fun, and really easy!

Get yerself a bucket of warm, soapy water and a scrub brush. Put yer waders on INSIDE OUT, go stand in the bath tub or shower and gently scrub away. Rinse, dry and re-invert.

Hey!

Get some neoprene (wetsuit) soap from a local dive shop, hand wash and soak them in it overnight, then give them a good hand scrubbing. It really works wonders.

DO NOT WASH THEM IN THE WASHING MACHINE
This may ruin the seam seals.

Out! <KF> >< )))">
It is good to be LUCKY!
