I woke up fairly early yesterday morning. And since the Williamette Falls fish counts have been so terrible, I thought I would try a little bass fishing. I used to fish for bass some when I lived in Virginia, but had only fished for them a couple of times here in Oregon. Here is a picture of my biggest, sorry the cellphone camera quality is not the best:

For you experienced bass fishermen out there, any idea how much this one weighed? I didn't have a scale with me, but it measure out to 17 inches long. I caught 5 others with all the rest being smaller, and one just about the same size. I also lost a big one that swam under a submerged log or rock or something and I couldn't get it out without breaking my line. After my luck so far at steelhead fishing this year, I didn't think it was a bad two hours spend on the river. I used what worked for me in VA, a 1/8 oz jig head with a chartreuse power grub. Man it was nice to catch a fish; I feel like I got some of the fishing mojo back again.
