Spinning or baitcasting? What's your budget?
I bot a
St Croix Triumph (http://www.stcroixrods.com/rods/default2.asp?rodname=65&section=spin)
last week and for sixty dollars, I don't believe that there's a finer rod made. It's the same as their Premier series; only it's assembled in the Far East rather than the USA with a savings of 20 to 40 bucks. It may be that different guides are used.
Checking the sensitivity with the "growl" test, (Place the tip on the salesman's larnyx and have him growl; you'll feel the vibration. If he wants to make the sale, he'll comply with your request.) it was as good as a Kistler for less than half the price.

Brett,
Hit GIJoes after practice. This weeks' flyer shows the Berkley Cherrywoods on sale for $12 again. The 7ft'er is nice and the 6.5 is as well. Price is right. I have "several" Spinners and baitcasters.
Holler and we'll sneek out on the Willey, class schedule still show some free time tue & thurs mornings?

I LOVE my 8 Bass Pro Tourney specials the 6' 6" or 7', 4 - 12 is great for tubes & grubs and the 6-17 is great for Senko's & worms. They are high quality graphite rods with good guides & reel seats for 39.99 (if you wait 'till the end of the season you can get them for $29.99). They were rated a "best buy" by a national magazine. I've heard that the blanks are made in southern Washington  The longer baitcasters could use another guide or two, but the spin rods are GREAT for the $$$.

I even bought a couple for my wife :flowered:
