They had a big write up on the Nestucca. Has anyone went there for fly action? boat or bank? Where?

Is the river good for fly rods or mainly gear? I'd like to check it out for Summer Steel and SRC's, maybe Springers?

The Nestucca is a great fly fishing river for summer and winter run steelhead and SRC. The biggest problem is access. However,it is an easy river to float; I have done it many times with a pontoon. It is best when river level is between 5.2 and 5.8 feet. There are two shuttles available, one in Cloverdale and one in Hebo.

There is a fly fishing guide who guides the Nestucca frequently. If you need his name, etc. PM me.

I believe there is even some chinook action right near the mouth of the Nestucca (estuary) using flies. Lots of casting, lots of stripping - but I hear they catch a few.
