How many hours is typical for a SJ 175 before she's gettin' on the worn side of life? Is 150 hours still pretty new? From what I hear the powerhead is solid on these set ups. They been around long enough now to know how they fare.

Looking at used boats and curious how long of life SJ 175 has. Thanks for any info on your experience/what you've heard.

If well taken care of,150 hours is nothing. Its pretty common for 2 strokes to go over 1000 hours with little problem. I don't know why a SJ 175 wouldn't be the same. Its just a Mercury 175 thats made into an inboard jet Right?

Even better, Merc 200..The pump drags it down to 175. Ask some of the guides how many hours they log before they trade in.

I know of one that has over 600 hard hours on it, still runs great, no problems.
