sounds like dirt particles in the carb,if you haven had a rebuild in a long time I would start there if there is a drain in the float bowl you can try that,

2nd on the dirt in the carb, probably blocking the high speed jets. Had that same problem after rebuilding the carbs, and figured it couldn't be the carb -- I just cleaned and rebuilt it. I was inside out the whole thing twice. Turns out a piece of varnish from old gas got knocked loose during the rebuild and didn't get cleaned out.
Started and idled great. Gave it power and about halfway up it just bogged down and wouldn't go.

Another easy troubleshoot... just have an assistant pump the primer bulb while you're having problems. If that helps check for clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump.

another idea that was proposed to me;not enough oil mixing into the gas.theres a shutoff to protect your motor from complete self destruction.the shutoff prohibits you from accelerating more than 2000 rpm's. another great diagnosis.

I had the same problem with my 50hp Mariner.
Changed fuel hose and filter. haven't had a problem since.

Filter hose's Carb, and make sure it isn't sucking any water up in that thing.. a little water can really mess up a carb.

Sounded good to me Jason.I do good work for beer!I think.Get all those little issues dealt with and I think it will run fine.If not,I'll go into it a little deeper. Just keep me hydrated.Where is the little beer symbol,oh here it is  Randy
