View Full Version : Painting my boat question
I've been thinking about painting my 93' SuperVee. I would like to redo the Zolotone inside and paint the outside. Can anyone recommned a place? About how much would this cost?

Look at vinyl on the outside instead of paint. Less prep, fraction of the cost, and holds up well. Most of the larger boat dealers now offer the service. I've heard Three Rivers Marine in Everett is very good. This comes from Red's Guide Service.

I'll second the vinyl for the outside of the boat, less money and looks great.
What is the ballpark cost for vinyl on a 19ft. boat? Also, who do you recommend in the Portland areaa?

I'd shoot a PM to greenbuttskunk, I think he's done a few.
Tell me more about this vinyl. Is it appled as a sheet, painted on? Covers the whole boat exterior in place of paint? Is there confusion about painting a boat hull vs. applying decals?

if you are painting the whole hull then vinyl wont do. If your painting above the waterline then definatly do vinyl. Definatly get ahold of Brad (Greenbuttskunk). He just had a customer post a boat in the fishing page with it's new vinyl job. Quick to change when you want to.
