I have a 1993 150hp Evinrude jet on my 19ft. SuperVee. I tune it yearly. It runs great until this week. I put-in at the St.Johns bridge and fished Davis bar area and down river. Everything running fine. I was down river several miles and decided to leave so I put it on plane and started in. While running up the Willamette my passenger waved to me to stop, he couldn't take the pounding and needed a rest. After a few minutes I started to put it on plane again and the motor started missing, jerking from side to side and finally quit. That morning I topped off my gas tank and it took about 16 gallons. The gas I had in the tank has been in for awhile but not longer than a few months. I started my kicker up and ran it back to the takeout. What a long ride. I thought I sucked up something into the intake so I put the boat on the trailer and couldn't see anything in the intake. I put the boat back in the water and it started right up and ran strong. Any ideas on what I should be looking for? I got a new water/fuel seperator and will install it today. I'm thinking water in the tank? Sorry for the long message but any ideas would be appreciated.
