Well I broke my tried and trusted Lamiglas fishing the other day. I sent a email tonight about getting a replacement. I will let you know how good the service I receive is.

Smilesforu,
I broke the tip on my Kenai King about two months ago. I live in Longview, so I just drove to Lamiglas at Woodland. I took the whole rod, and they just gave me a new tip section. Whole process (other than the drive)took about 3 minutes, no questions asked. Hope you have the same luck.

Just letting you know from my fishing trip this past weekend. There was a guy there waiting for a new rod/his old one repaired for quite some time. He is a guide bud of mine. The particular model that had broken on him was already back-ordered 2 months, yadda yadda yadda. I feel sorry for the guy because he owns about 8 Lamiglas rods. I think he's been waiting for about 4 months now. Hopefully this won't be the case for you. Best bet would be to just drive to Lamiglas. ***do note: Bring along spare rod setup and gear. That way you can hit a river or two since you drove all that way ya know http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Always been pretty impressed with Lamiglas warranty. Ive even taken back the cheaper models(1 year warranty) 4 years later and had them replace the whole rod,two different times. Hard to beat that! I live close so I drive over, too. Tell ya what...Ive bought alot of rods from them and PR'ed them to my friends because of the way they took care of me. Good for their sales...good for fishin' folks like us.

I asked them about a broken one I had, and they said send in the money! They wanted 102 bucks to replace mine, and it is a 1000 series rod! Whats up with that?

I wish you luck, I broke my best steelhead graphite a couple of years ago. It was a lamiglass that was bought in the late '70's for +/-$125...supposedly guaranteed for life.I tried three different times to get it fixed or a reduced price on a similar model...no luck. They told me it was to old and no warranty lasted that long. (how long is LIFE). Granted it was old, and it had seen a lot of use (not abuse) and it was obvious that break was not a car door. Anyway..I still own three or four Lamiglass but will never buy another. My last driftrod was a Sage.

I took a rod to Lamiglass this week on a warranty deal. They treated me very fairly and I was delighted with the way they more than backed up their warranty.
Their lifetime warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It clearly says it does not cover misuse, accidents, normal wear and tear or alterations.
I was a little worried at first cause I told the guy I broke it netting a fish. He told me it was misuse. I asked him how could fishing with it be abuse? He explained to me as long as the rod is close to a 45 degree angle and facing the fish it will never break. What I did was raise the pole straight up and away from the fish as it tried to lunge away from the net (He called it high sticking) I would not have been pleased if they stuck me with abuse but they probably had a point.

Smiles,
I returned my LG to G.I. Joes and they exchanged it with no problems or questions asked. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If yours comes back give it a try.
OLC, I've never heard about such poor service from LG http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I really like my stick, wouldn't be without it.
