OK, someone has to have been out on Saturday. How was the bar? How was the sea? Was fishing good? Were they tucked in behind the jetty or were they out riding the foam line? Were the coho shallow and the kings deep? Tell tell tell! How many fish per rod? When did they hit?

Just got a call from my brother in law. Three fish on, one in the boat, in the ocean yesterday...All you folk that live down there, leave a few for Wake and I next week....
BTW. That go to button is a nice feature
I went fishing outside of Tillamook Bay for the first time yesterday. Beautiful day, but we only saw a couple fish caught all morning and later didn't see anything happening in Ghost Hole.
I noticed that everyone fishing outside of Tillamook Bay is using lead instead of divers. Why is that and what method is being used? Fishing right off the bottom or a certain number of pulls out like with a diver?

OOOOoooooh ABL,
It's the rules for the bubble. Check your regs!
Whoops! I guess I broke the rules for about 15 minutes before I switced over to what I saw everone else using! What's the purpose of the restriction?

Good question NorthriverS. Maybe ODFW wants us to rediscover the lost art of mooching. It is quite puzzling, the rationale. It can't be common sense, for instance, you can't use a flasher if it is attached to your mainline, however you can use one if it is attached directly to your downrigger. Personally, I find this technique quite deadly when you have the flasher attached to the ball and drag it let the ball bounce on the bottom (only works on sandy bottoms unless you are wealthy) with your mainline and bait clipped to a stacker about 3-5 feet above the ball. Go figure...
Enquiring minds want to know...

Hey ABL, I didn't mean to slight you there. I guess bulletin boards are like CB's. Two people can try to be talking at once.
Like in my post to NorthRiverS, I haven't a clue unless they want give the fish a handicap...
I suspect it was originally to protect the silvers since they tend to be shallower than the kings. With the resurgence of the silvers, it's not clear that this still makes sense. Did anyone comment on this when the regs were being reviewed?

What is the reason for a diver restriction?
