We fished out of Chinook Landing today and were on our way to the dock by 11:45. The pressure has fallen way off.....could this be that nobody has any vacation time left or do they think the run is over? We caught 2 fish like we have for the past 3 Thursday's in a row ! http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mrdorkfish,

You must be one of those guys I mentioned in my Bonneville post. Have you figured out how to manufacture the right stink that make salmon bite or what? If you have, you better patent it, you could be rich someday!

There's no stank about it......it seems for us that the correct lead line, leader, and lining up with certain landmarks has been the ticket http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif We actually sit there and laugh cuz we can't believe the luck...yep luck we are having.

In that case, you the man!

Are you fishing up or downstream of the landing? I'm curious if any silvers are stacking up off the mouth of the Sandy...

The dam(n) counts are down and I can't figure what happened to all the silvers!

Mo.....I am fishing below Chinook Landing, I heard from a friend that Jack Glass has been taking guests to the mouth of the sandy and casting Blue Fox's and catching fish.....I think the numbers have gone down because the nets were in a few days ago, NORTHRIVER.....They will take a small wobbler....of the casting type....but i don't think an Alvin would do it, I mark alot of medium sized fish at around the 12 to 16 ft level. a few years ago i caught a coho by fishing in about 14ft or water trolling, drop a 12inch lead line, and a 4ft leader using a #4 vibrax or bud lure. Drop it to the bottom and real up two revolutions.

Good Luck !! http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My son and I were in Alaska fishing for Silvers in the ocean a little over a month ago. We ran out of herring and I happened to have a couple of Alvins in my fishing vest. The silvers clobbered them with abandon!

Fished out of Chinook Landing again yesterday.....very light pressure out there again, Our first hook-up took me 45 minutes to land and produced a 40+ lb buck! We hooked another shortly thereafter and lost it right after we dropped off from anchor.......a little after 1:00 we we got another one on and landed it, 18lbs. Keep fishing !!

MoJet...you crack me up ! ROFL...oops! forgot this is not Aol, let's see if this helps, We have been catching all our fish right at daylight even with the tide coming in but still a good flow.....and at the tide change, (going out) We have been fishing in only 21 to 24 ft of water. Use a dropper of about 6 1/2 to 7ft and a leader 50 inches long.......Don't bounce it back too far....only about 30 ft from the boat, I have heard that fish can see either just up or better....UP so keep it away from the bottom..... http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm no guide so i am really not to sure of this seeing up thingy. Oh.....and please make sure that your drag is not too tight cuz when they hit we're talking horizontal !

You still the man Mr. D!

Whatever you are doing and where ever you are fishing, someone is smiling on you! All I can say is you keep on doing it because you are the only one giving us positive reports with pictures no less!

Next Sunday, I'm going coastal, something has to shake loose. Maybe if I stayed away from those uggggh sturgeon for awhile the salmon Gods will smile upon me!

Tight lines!

ALL RIGHT, THAT'S IT! Mr. McDorkfish, or are you a guide in sheep's clothing?

Well whoever you are, what would it take (you know... bribes) for help getting the skunk off my rods? UNCLE!!!! I can't take much more of this!
