I own a 150 hp Ocean Runner Johnson 1995. I am having problems with the motor "spitting" (missing) on idle. This is after I just had it gone through at the shop (plugs changed, mixture screws adjusted for too much oil burn, and other basic maintenance). They told me to run it hard for a while to let the motor re-tune itself (something dealing with the computer in it). Now all I get is a the missing and it gets so bad that it will kill itself especially if I put it into gear and let it idol. The shop told me they went throught it and everything was working fine. I rust these guys and I think they would have said something if they had noticed anything unusual.

normally I would take it back to them and have it corrected but I have a baby coming soon and I am trying to save money especially on the shop hours if at all possible. Does anyone know of anything I can do or look for to correct this problem. Please let me know because any advice would be really appreciated.

Was it running like this before you took it in?

I have the same motor only a 1996. I am going through a simalar problem,I think I narrowed it down to a dirty fuel tank and a restricted fuel pickup, The screen was pinched on the pickup tube and there was a small amount of gunk in the tank.Check your water separator filter if you have one.If that is not very dirty or much water in it.Id say your possibly restricted below the filter. You should be able to get to the pickup tube through the tank inspection hole. Dunoo if thats your problem or not but thats what mines going through
